We The Fest
We The Fest is an annual summer festival of music, arts, fashion and food taking place in Indonesia's capital of Jakarta.
Since its inaugural edition in 2014, the festival has seen incredible performances from globally-known acts of different genres including Lorde, The Kooks, Dua Lipa, SZA, James Bay, Ellie Goulding, Big Sean, The 1975, G-Eazy, Mark Ronson, Phoenix, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, CL, Albert Hammond Jr, Odesza, Kimbra and many more.
Indonesia's most exciting musical acts have also performed at the festival including Padi Reborn, Potret, NAIF, Barasuara, Sheila on 7, Raisa, Andien, GAC, Ramengvrl, Elephant Kind, and Stars & Rabbit amongst many.
The 2018 edition stretched for three days and drew crowds of 56,000, a 20% increase on the previous year and over double that from 2016. With ticket sales skyrocketing, festival goers came not just from South-East Asia and the Asian territory, but from across the globe, with France, Germany, New Zealand, and even Peru represented alongside the local markets of Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Japan.
The highlight for many was arguably the return of the country’s president Joko Widodo. Weaving through the crowd and taking selfies with adoring fans, Widodo soaked up the atmosphere and showed that We The Fest truly is open to all.
